Serving Decatur, Serving Its Homeless

display of football stuff

Win or lose,
after the game it's party time!
And then home.

But not all Decatur citizens have a home to go to.

The Tennessee Valley Outreach (TVO) serves that segment of Decatur's population.

TVO serves Decatur in two ways:
1. Offer overnight shelter as a safe alternative to the streets
2. Offer transitional housing while homeless persons learn the skills for securing their own more permanent housing

TVO emphasizes outcomes, changed individuals rather than numbers of meals served or beds-for-the-night provided.

The Tennessee Valley Outreach is Decatur's Rescue Mission. TVO is the only homeless facility in Morgan County open to its residents 24/7.

At TVO, you can put your faith into action.

You can volunteer some time to various projects and use your giftedness from God under guidance of TVO staff. Some volunteer work can lead to paid positions.

You can make tax deductible, monetary gifts since TVO is a 501(c)(3) faith-based agency.

You can also make donations of your excess material goods that are "like new" to the Thrift Store at 221 East Moulton Street in downtown Decatur.

You can pray for us. The sense of God's hand upon us that comes from your prayers helps to keep us going.
Thank you so much for praying for us.
