You Can Help the Homeless

Via Tennessee Valley Outreach

Not all of Decatur's citizens have a home to go to. The Tennessee Valley Outreach (TVO) serves that segment of Decatur's population.

TVO serves Decatur in two ways by offering transient and transitional accommodations. The transient program provides overnight shelter as a safe alternative to the streets. The transitional program provides longer term housing to homeless persons while they learn skills for securing their own permanent housing.

Current Needs at the Mission

You can pray for us. The sense of God's hand upon us that comes from your prayers helps to keep us going.

TVO emphasizes outcomes, changed individuals rather than numbers of meals served or beds provided for the night. TVO has vacancies in both the men and women's dormitories for any who meet the admission requirements. For more about TVO, call (256) 350-5226.

TVO is a faith-based 501(c)(3) organization, so gifts and donations are tax deductible.

You can visit the Mission at 2117 Old Moulton Heights Road SW, Decatur, AL 35602.

The Tennessee Valley Outreach is Decatur's Rescue Mission.

God requires of the believer to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with Him. Another way of putting that is to love the Lord your God supremely and your neighbor as yourself.

At TVO, you can put your faith into action.
Thank you so much for praying for us.

You can volunteer some time to various projects and use your giftedness from God under guidance of TVO staff. Some volunteer work can lead to paid positions.

You can make tax deductible, monetary gifts to TVO, a 501(c)(3) faith-based agency.

You can also make donations of your excess material goods that are "like new" to the Thrift Store.
