If you would like Dr. Gray to speak at your church, Sunday School classes, Youth Groups, luncheons or events, please call 256.350.5226 to make arrangements. He would be more than happy to do so.

Welcome Dr. Gray

The residents and staff at Tennessee Valley Outreach Mission would like to take a few minutes of your time and introduce you to Dr. Ed Gray, interim director.

Dr. Gray was born in Neshoba County, Mississippi 1928. He now resides in Pensacola, Florida. He married Agnes "Granny" Gray on July 2, 1951. They have five children, 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Dr. Gray, an ordained minister, has pastored at two Christian & Alliance churches in Birmingham for four years and in Florida for six years. He is now a member of Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida.

In 1960 Dr. Gray started working at the Waterfront Rescue Mission in Pensacola, a multifaceted ministry. He was CEO there for nearly 30 years before his retirement. Agnes also retired from that mission after 42 1/2 years.

Both he and "Granny" are still active at the mission. She does the morning devotional, and he teaches a Bible Study class.

After his retirement in 1991, he became a consultant. Now he travels across America to nonprofit organizations. He explains and teaches them how to do successful fund raising. He also knows what it takes to be a director.

His mission for being here is to help us find a new director because Jeanette Wood retired April 30, 2010. Our Board of Directors voted to bring Dr. Gray here to help with this selection process.

interviewing job candidates Dr. Gray wil be our interim director. He has already started talking to and interviewing people for the director's position. He will continue to do so until the right person is found.

We are all happy to have Dr. Gray here. If you would like to talk to him, please feel free to call.
