Director's Comments

This month, our income is less than it has been in several years. Other non-profits are also experiencing a similar fate.

TVO's donor base is primarily churches and individuals. These individuals give to other non-profits and support their own churches as well.

The economy is hurting in many ways: gas, food, global warming, and jobs transferred overseas with shoddy merchandise coming back. Sometimes our nation's leadership seems blind to what matters most to us.

By the way, now is the time to shop at thrift stores for clothing with real labels that scratch the neck but last a long time and were "made in America." You can check the weekly specials at the TVO Thrift Store online.

With our thanks extended to all TVO's supporters, we commit to doing everything we can to tighten our belts. We will exchange lists of needs with other non-profits to help ourselves. Maybe we can help each other.

Let's all do what we can to help each other get through this trying time. "This too shall pass," and we will be better for having survived it. — JW
